Fumes Purification
Fumes (NOx) coming from the reaction between the aqua regia and the metals contained into the scraps or vapors coming out the electrolytic refining procedure need to be extracted and neutralized by a fume scrubbing system.
The working principle of the fume scrubbing system relies on the wet scrubbing, via the contact of target compounds with a solution composed of water and chemicals. Inside the scrubbers the pollutant substances are transfered from the flow to the water, so that emissions could be within the values laid down by the standard regulations.
Measures and capacity of the fume scrubbing plant vary referring to the refining unit to which it is connected.
